One of the keys to economic mobility is having the right information when making financial decisions which allows people to avoid making costly mistakes that can work against them over their lifetime. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has developed materials and trainings that can help community partners and municipalities that provide direct financial coaching/literacy support to residents – empowering them to tackle what life throws at them financially.

The CFPB will have a four-part webinar series focused on their Your Money, Your Goals resources.  The trainings will take place from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Eastern on Thursdays, September 8, 15, 22, 29.

The webinars are designed for new and experienced practitioners who assist clients with financial issues and would like to receive an overview of the latest resources. Please share with your front-line staff, nonprofit partners, and contractors that are working in this space.

The series will focus on content related to:

  • Financial well-being
  • Consumer protection
  • Cash flow
  • Credit
  • Debt
  • Savings
  • Financial products

The resources will help participants assist clients to answer questions such as:

  • What can I do if I’m having a problem with a financial product or service?
  • How do I make sure my credit report is accurate?
  • How can I find a safe place to put my savings?
  • How do I respond to a debt collector?
  • How can I protect my identity?
